Bleach is such a guilty pleasure for me. Another fandom I'm in primarily for the characters; the storyline is pretty meh at best. I almost stopped following it when it degenerated into the arrankaru arc, but when I saw a few scenes with real jewels of interaction betwen Ichigo/Rukia/Renji/Ishida, I decided to check it out again. I'm mostly irritated because KT's already saddled himself with a ridiculously huge cast of characters. I know there's no reasonable way he can really develop all of them, but he keeps committing himself to *new* characters when a good chunk of the Gotei-13 is still sorely under-developed. It's not like the Bleach plotline is all that fascinating, and I doubt it's what keeps most of us coming back to watch it (oh god, that Karakura being the site needed for the ouken news was so horrifically cliche, even for Bleach). Even the main character, Ichigo, I've found to be utterly uninteresting except in combination with snarky interaction with Rukia/Renji/Ishida/random other Gotei-13 members. =\ Of course, I'm probably a bit biased because my favorite characters are all from Soul Society. Well, ok, and Urahara-san too (that guy is just freakin' hilarious. Less Aizen, more Urahara please <3). Tags: bleach Current Mood: annoyed

A list of things so human denial cruelty eyes so cold, so cold as snow atop Fuji, distant as snow atop Everest unbending mind unbending will as the unmovable rocky armor of Fuji unbending mind trapped in delusion -- like the peak of Fuji clouded in mist eyes so cold, so unseeing, blinded by icy mist eyes too cold to see pain, to see that the unbending will of Fuji against the howling tempest has left the mountainside barren, the vegetation in utter ruin eyes whose tears have long frozen unshed, dissipated into the icy mist
A list of things so tragic a baby's death a baby's slaughter sacrifices mindless sacrifices meaningless sacrifices for men to whom one's life is just an expendable weed to guard the rocky armor of Fuji midst the howling tempest a nation's history the world's history the history of slaughter and the millions of murdered children the millions of murdered children and their potential crushed before their spring like the hapless fauna on Fuji by the claws of the bloodthirsty tempest a mother's tears a wife's tears a child's tears as thick and steady as the winter snow falling atop Fuji, as the winter snow burying Everest's peak
A list of things so human negligence willful negligence murderous negligence, cowering behind the icy veil of the mist, knowing the storm will rage and the blossoms and saplings will be crushed but the veil of mist shields the view cynicism despair despair and hate so deep it has imploded and become as nothing apathetic cynicism of too many tears piled atop Fuji and it's mingled with the mist and blinded the eyes and the eyes have frozen and have turned into that empty, hollow ice
It's a sad day when term papers inspire one to write poetry. Mingjian Life Trivia for 500. The poem was composed for the term paper on this topic. Mingjian Life Trivia for 600. The poem's title was inspired by these two artistic creations. Need artists' names in the answer for full credit. And shame on you if you have to Google to find one of them. Mingjian Life Trivia for 400. The style of the poetry is heavily based on this. And again, point deduction for Googling the answer!
On another note, I'm completely converted to LaTeX now. Worship it.
